The Grave of the Great Alley of Clarity Cats is an anthology of poetry written by Mike Giardina, originally prepared as a thesis in creative writing, at the University of California, Davis. Please enjoy these experiments in abstract, postmodern poetry.

Flash like an individual there

My drunk elders once overran an actual infinite
when their music cawed at the hillsides overlooking
the clear Spring drought that clouded over
with the tingle of nacreous monsters.

They flapped at an archaic home entertainment system,
at the modern cave drawings of fermented, white-grain journeymen,
who refused to provide water for the city.

The victims were sequestered in excavation,
their patients killed in the vodka aqueducts,
calves stretching like a veteran actor’s craning neck.
